Jan 11, 2021
Last week on Instagram, we welcomed 20-year-old filmmaker Josh Leong. Awarded by President Obama and the House of Representatives, Josh Leong is an Asian-American writer/director from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Winning a Scholastic American Visions Award in 2018, his films have been screened at four Academy Award®-qualifying festivals and in 11 countries across the world. He has since developed commercials for clients such as Facebook, Uber, and Google under 1st Ave Machine. Josh interns with Circle of Confusion and De Line Pictures under producer Donald De Line, former executive at Paramount Pictures and Walt Disney Studios. You can see Josh's film "The Other Side" and speak with him and the cast and crew, including Sofia Bara, Ethan Herisse from Ava DuVernay's When They See Us, Bemnet Yemesgen, Tom Ingwersen, Adonai Kelelom, and Wayna Wondwossen in a live Q&A during Scout Film Festival online February 18-27. Be sure to tune in, like, comment and go give Josh a follow as well.

Many thanks to Josh Leong for sharing his important work with us and for shedding a light on the Ethiopian Abandoned Children Crisis. You can get involved by watching Josh's film The Other Side, and by donating to Orphan Care Ethiopia at orphancareethiopia.org/giving
